At Saltpetre, we started our journey with the purpose of creating a modern way of sustainable living. A lifestyle that is as fair to the environment as it is relevant to contemporary times.

We believe that simplicity of design and mindful production can integrate the needs of urban life with the need for sustainable consumption.

We create unobstructive products that unburden the earth.

We consider cost to the environmental in creating our products—not just the price tag. Our choice of raw materials, suppliers and all other parts of the supply chain is directed at minimising the environmental impact of our products from their conception to usage to end of life.

The choices that make us:

| Design |
We keep our designs devoid of any adornment that doesn't serve a functional purpose. This makes them easy to recycle or regenerate from.

| Premium eco-friendly raw material |
Two-thirds of the eco impact of a product comes from the material used in it's production. We take pride in the choice of our materials. Premium and environment friendly, we source our materials locally from suppliers that are either organic certified or have been thoroughly evaluated by our team for their ethical practices.

| Production |
We produce in small batches as opposed to the norm of bulk production. This makes sure we don't consume more than what is necessary. Waste created during production is collected for recycling or repurposing.

| Packaging |
Every shipment of Saltpetre comes packed in a 100% biodegradable packaging that can be used as a window planter. Use it to incubate the herb seeds that come with it.

| Use & maintenance |
We keep our products easy to use and low maintenance. For example we avoid making clothes that require dry cleaning.

| End of life |
All our products and packaging is 100% biodegradable. Put them in your composting bin when there is no longer a use for them.
